Favourite lipsticks

Hoi! :) Vandaag wil ik jullie graag vertellen over mijn favoriete lipproducten van het moment. Toen ik begin september hoorde dat ik geslaagd was voor mijn bachelorpaper, vond ik dat ik mezelf weleens mocht trakteren op een paar nieuwe lippenstiften, die heel fijn bleken te zijn (maar ik had dan ook vooraf het nodige onderzoek gedaan, haha) :) Ik vind het zelf altijd fijn als mensen ook foto's van zichzelf posten als ze de producten gebruikt hebben, dus dat heb ik hier ook gedaan. Hopelijk vinden jullie het leuk.

Hi! :) Today, I want to tell you about my current favourite lip products. When I heard I had passed for my bachelor paper (which meant I had graduated for my Bachelor degree), I thought it was a good occasion to spoil myself a little with a few new lipsticks. As it turned out, I really liked them (but I had done some research on it, haha) :) I always like it when people post pictures of themselves actually wearing the lipstick, when the post something about it, so that's what I did here. I hope you like it :)

De eerste twee producten zijn de Color Boost-lippenstiften van Bourjois. Daar had ik deze zomer veel goede dingen over gehoord, en om eerlijk te zijn moest ik me toen inhouden om ze niet meteen te gaan kopen. Er zijn vier kleuren, ik heb Red Sunrise en Fuchsia Libre. Het zijn een soort potloodjes, net als de Chubby Sticks van Clinique, en dat maakt het eigenlijk heel makkelijk te gebruiken. De lippenstift zelf is iets tussen dekkend en doorzichtig in, net goed :) Ze kosten 9, 99 euro bij het Kruidvat.

The first two products are the Color Boost lipsticks from Bourjois. I had heard so many good things about them this summer, and to be honest, I had to stop myself from immediately going to the store and buying them when I first saw them. There are four colours, and the ones I got are Red Sunrise and Fuchsia Libre. They come in some sort of pencil-shape, just like the Chubby Sticks from Clinique, and that makes them very easy to use. They're not to covering, but not to sheer either :) They're sold in the drugstore.

De eerste kleur die ik heb is Red Sunrise, en dat is een eenvoudige, mooie rode kleur, die ergens tussen roze en oranje in ligt. Volgens mij is dit een kleur die iedereen wel goed staat, en die bij verschillende gelegenheden past.

The first colour I have is Red Sunrise, a simple, nice red colour that's somewhere inbetween pink and orange. I think it's a colour that looks good on everyone, and for different occasions.

De andere kleur die ik heb is Fuchsia Libre, een mooie roze kleur. Als je hem net opdoet is het een iets fellere kleur, maar na een tijdje gaat het er iets natuurlijker uitzien. Op dit moment is deze kleur mijn favoriet van de twee. Ik denk wel dat deze kleur er bij iedereen anders uitziet, want als je van jezelf hele lichte lippen hebt (zoals Mascha) ziet het er veel koeler en lichter uit.

The other colour I have is Fuchsia Libre, a nice pink colour. When you've just applied it, it's quite a bright colour, but after a while, it looks a little more natural. Right now, this is my favourite from the Color Boost sticks. I do think this colour looks different on everyone, because when your lips are lighter, the colour looks a lot lighter and cooler.

De volgende lippenstift is er een van Rimmel: de Moisture Renew-lippenstift in de kleur Funtime Fuchsia. Dit vind ik echt zo'n heerlijke lippenstift! Een tijdje geleden bekeek ik een filmpje van Estée waarin ze vertelde over haar tien favoriete lippenstiften. Ik vind haar lippenstift altijd geweldig, dus wat dat betreft vertrouw ik eigenlijk wel op haar oordeel. Ik wilde graag een kleur die iets anders was dan wat ik al had, en daarom koos ik voor deze opvallende frambozenkleur van Rimmel. Het is een lekker romige lippenstift, maar als je hem op de juiste manier aanbrengt blijft hij eigenlijk best lang zitten. Hij vervaagt wel een beetje, maar het ziet er nog steeds goed uit. Hij ruikt trouwens ook heel lekker! Ook deze lippenstift kost 9,99 euro.

The next lipstick is one by Rimmel: the Moisture Renew lipstick in the colour Funtime Fuchsia. I love this lipstick! A while ago, I watched this video from Estée where she's telling about her ten favourite drugstore lipsticks. I always love her lips, so I kind of trust her opinion when it comes to lipstick. I wanted to buy something which was different from the lipsticks I already had, so I choses this raspberry colour from Rimmel. It's a pretty creamy lipstick, but if you apply it the right way, it can stay on for a while. It does fade a little, but it still looks nice. Oh and by the way, I love the smell of it!

Ik vind het echt zo'n mooie kleur, ik kan er naar blijven kijken. Soms is het gewoon fijn om een pop of colour aan je uiterlijk toe te voegen, en daar is deze kleur ideaal voor.

I really think this is a gorgeous colour, I can't stop looking at it. Sometimes it's just so nice to add a pop of colour to your face, and this one is perfect for that. 

Dit is zowat het enige wat ik deze zomer heb gedragen: de Lip & Cheek Stain van The Body Shop. Ik had nog nooit eerder een lipstain geprobeerd, en toen ik dit product kocht vroeg ik me af waarom iemand überhaupt nog iets anders zou willen gebruiken. Ik was thuis vergeten om foto's te maken waarop ik deze lipstain draag, dus daarom heb ik op kot maar snel even met mijn iPod foto's gemaakt.

This is pretty much the only thing I wore on my lips this summer: the Lip & Cheek Stain from The Body Shop. I had never tried a lipstain before, and when I bought this, I wondered why anyone would even wear something else than this. I forgot to take pictures of this when I was at home, so I just took some pictures of it with my iPod.

Lipstain is eigenlijk een dunne, waterige substantie waarmee je een soort "vlek" op je lippen maakt. Vanaf het opgedroogd is voel je eigenlijk niet meer dat je iets op je lippenstift op hebt, en dat is wat ik er zo fijn aan vind: het geeft een mooi en natuurlijk kleurtje, zonder dat je je zorgen hoeft te maken dat je het per ongeluk uitveegt. Ik breng deze lipstain altijd aan door eerst even met de sponsapplicator over mijn lippen te gaan, en er dan over te stempelen met mijn vinger, en als het droog is doe ik nog een tweede laagje. Op die manier blijft het goed zitten, en hoe meer laagjes je doet, hoe intenser de kleur wordt. Deze lipstain kan je ook gebruiken in plaats van blush, om je wangen kleur te geven. Dat had ik op deze foto's niet gedaan, maar in de zomer deed ik het eigenlijk heel vaak, omdat ik toen niet zo'n zin had in poeder. Het geeft ook een heel mooi effect als je op je lippen en wangen dezelfde kleur gebruikt. Zeker een aanrader! Ik weet niet meer precies hoeveel deze lipstain kostte (ik geloof dat het iets tussen de 8 en de 11 euro was).

Lipstain is a thin, watery substance which creates some sort of "stain" on your lips. Once it's dry, you don't even feel that you're wearing lipstick, and that's what I like about it: it gives a nice and natural colour, and you don't even have to worry that it'll get smudged or something. I always apply this by putting some of the product onto my lips with the applicator and then stamping it into my lips with my finger. Once it's dry, I apply a second layer. This way, it'll stay on pretty well, and the more layers you add, the brighter the colour will be. You can also use this lipstain as a blush, to give your cheeks some colour. I didn't do that for these pictures, but I did it all the time during the summer, because I didn't really feel like wearing powder when it was so hot. It looks so nice when you wear the same colour on your lips and your cheeks. I definitely recommend it. You can buy this at The Body Shop, but I think the price can be different in every country.
